Agrasen ki Baoli – Delhi
Agrasen ki Baoli is a 60-meter-long, 15-meter-deep historical stepwell located in the heart of Delhi near Connaught Place. Though a popular tourist spot, many believe it is haunted, particularly after sunset.
Visitors often talk about a growing sense of dread as they descend the steep, narrow steps. Some say the atmosphere becomes heavier with each level, and they hear the echo of footsteps that don’t belong to anyone around.
There are even claims of feeling “watched” or experiencing a pull—as if some unseen force wants to drag them down into the dark waters below.
In ancient times, legends say that the Baoli was filled with black water which lured people to commit suicide. While there’s no proof of this, the eerie silence and architectural design amplify the fear factor. Paranormal investigators have attempted night explorations, with some reporting changes in temperature, voice anomalies, and equipment malfunctions.
Though the Baoli is a protected heritage site today, its ghost stories are alive and well. Even Delhi locals admit they wouldn’t dare visit after dark.
