The Tragic Death of Gaurav Tiwari: India’s Paranormal Prodigy
In July 2016, India’s most prominent paranormal investigator, Gaurav Tiwari, was found dead under eerie circumstances in his bathroom in Dwarka, Delhi. A former pilot turned ghost hunter, Tiwari had investigated over 600 haunted locations worldwide. At just 32 years old, he was the founder of the Indian Paranormal Society and had become a public figure thanks to multiple TV appearances and media coverage.
His family discovered his body with a suspicious black line around his neck. Authorities quickly suggested suicide, but his family and fans strongly believed foul play—or even a supernatural cause—was involved. Tiwari had confided in relatives just days prior that he was feeling “pushed” by a dark force. He said something was trying to control or attack him, but he remained vague about details.
Friends later revealed that he was researching a case involving spirit possession and a notorious Indian haunted site before his death. Many within the paranormal community suspect that his untimely end might be linked to a spirit he encountered, or even a malevolent entity he failed to contain.
Despite official records listing the cause of death as asphyxiation by hanging, the peculiar placement of the mark and the lack of a suicide note have kept conspiracy theories alive. Tiwari’s death left a deep void in the Indian ghost-hunting scene. His protégés continue to investigate in his memory, though none have been able to match his charisma or dedication.
