The Death of Lal Bahadur Shastri
India’s second Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, died unexpectedly in Tashkent on January 11, 1966, just hours after signing a peace agreement with Pakistan following the Indo-Pak war of 1965. The official cause of death was cited as a heart attack.
